Hello and thanks for stopping by my Website.
My name is Steven Peacock, presenter of a community radio program known as
'A New Yorker Down Under'!

After presenting 5 shows, each running for 2 hours, every month for almost 4 years I've taking a break from the weekly development and presentation of programs and looking at some of the other challenges of running a radio station.
Presently I'm a Director the up and coming Youth Radio station here in The Southern Highlands licensed on frequency of 2WYR 92.5FM. We call ourselves The 'Y' FM.

The station had some difficult starts in the past however we have now secured our shire wide broadcast license through ACMA (Australian Communications and Media Authority) and are busily building our transmission and studio broadcasting equipment.
Our target audience is 25 years and younger. The 'Y' FM is a community asset operated by youth along with adult mentors and certified trainers. It is not only an information source for the youth of the shire, we are also a venue for work and life experience in the media business and other relevant fields. We deliver music, announcements, and community messages that are important to the interests and well being of today's youth in The Southern Highlands. There is a broadcast training school associated with the station.
If you are interested in sponsoring, participating or just more info please eMail me on Steven Youth Radio.
My weekly program 'A New Yorker Down Under' aired on Highland FM 107.1 it featured jazz and other music I've discovered as a listener or a performer in New York City or during my travels to other places in the world.

Airing live, my show was on every Thursday night in The Southern Highlands of NSW in Australia. I was also part of a team of presenters for a show called 'Jazz Time' that aired on the first Sunday of each month.
So if you've listened to my program you'll be familiar with the introduction..
'Grab your favorite Southern Highlands person, your favorite Southern Highlands beverage, tune the radio in, turn the volume up, kick back, put your feet on the coffee table (take your shoes off of course!) and listen and relax. We're all going to have a good time!'
